Emotional/Behavior Supports

Students are referred to Pace School with a wide variety of social, emotional and behavioral challenges that interfere with their ability to participate in the regular school environment.  Pace programming focuses on integrating mental health, behavioral services and social emotional learning directly into the classroom and across the school day. 

 

An array of educational and behavioral supports is provided to each student in order to promote success. 

 

 

 

Classroom/Staffing Structure:

  • Small class size of 8-12 students
  • Staff to student ratio of not more than 4:1
  • PA Certified Special Education teacher in each classroom

Special Area and Support Personnel:

  • Creative Arts Certified Teachers (Art, Music, Daily Living Skills, Physical Education, Technology)
  • Mobile (crisis) Support Staff
  • Nurses
  • Speech and Language Therapists
  • Occupational and Physical Therapists and other related services as outlined in the child’s IEP
  • Personal Care Assistants as outlined in the IEP
  • Social Workers

Students in the Partial Hospitalization Program also have access to:

  • Behavior Management Coordinators in the classroom
  • Mental Health Therapists
  • On-site Psychiatrist

  • Three levels of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports
  • Proactive Classroom Management System
  • Functional Behavior Assessments and individualized Positive Behavior Support Plans
  • Functional Skills Instruction
  • Mindfulness
